Fil-French star from Camiguin Louna Ozar was clutch scoring 6 in an 8-0 final quarter run by Gilas Pilipinas while Sumayah Sugapong sizzled with 28 points as the Philippines held off Samoa, 66-59, to remain unbeaten in the FIBA Asia Womens Under-18 Championship at the Koramangala Indoor Stadium in Bangalore, India.

Gilas was comfortably ahead 46-28 with 4:59 left in the 3rd quarter before Samoa mounted a huge rally and got within four, 56-52, with 5:35 left in the game. But then Ozar scored six in Gilas’ 8-0 counter offensive for a 64-52 lead time down to 2:11. Ozar finished with eight points, five boards, and three steals but had 9 turnovers. Gilas faces lowly Maldives today for an outright semifinal slot.
