HONORABLE MAYOR ROLANDO UY
Cagayan de Oro City
Dear Mayor Uy,
Greetings from Xavier University!
First of all, I would like to reinforce Xavier University’s wholehearted trust and confidence in the city’s capability to ensure safety and order in the city. We are also here to give our full support in the local government’s initiatives to promote peace and order in Cagayan de Oro.
In line with the memo released last September 1 regarding the suspension of face to face classes beyond 4:30 PM, it was promptly released primarily to address parents’ fears and concerns for their children’s safety. Thus, the Administration urgently released the memo to alleviate these concerns.
I will schedule a meeting with our CSG officers for better coordination next time with the XU administration on any important matter that may have public implications like this one.
I hope for our continued partnership and you may count on the University’s cooperation on the city’s programs and initiatives. We are also available for a personal dialogue to confer and reach a common understanding.
Thank you very much!
FR. MARS P. TAN SJ
