ORCA Cold Chain Solutions, one of the country’s few high-tech cold storage service providers, will be putting up a facility in Cagayan de Oro. Based on in its prospectus, the location will be in Brgy. Puntod and will be operated by Tundra Cold Logistics, Inc. This will be ORCA’s first facility in Mindanao and part of the company’s plans of expanding its locations to 7 facilities in 5 years, from the current 2 facilities.
ORCA intends to allocate ₱115.2 million, or 14% of the proceeds of their Initial Public Offering (IPO) for the Cagayan de Oro facility and the proceeds will be used to partially fund the construction and the equipment required inside the facility.
Tundra Cold Logistics, Inc. (formerly, ISOC Land Bonifacio Inc.) will hold and operate the CDO Facility which will have a total floor area of 6,190 sqm within a 9,932 sqm plot of land in Brgy. Puntod. Tundra owns the land to be used for the CDO Facility designed to have a cold room storage area of 5,989 cu sqm with an equivalent building height of 13 stories and with over 8,450 pallet positions.
Construction is scheduled to start by December of this year with commercial operations expected to commence by December 2023. Once complete, the CDO Facility will feature ORCA’s automation measures such as the WMS and RFID tagging system thereby ensuring similar traceability and quality of handling.
