Have you been inside the Water Tower before? After two years of being closed to the public due to the pandemic, the Cagayan de Oro City Museum was finally re-opened coinciding with the Centennial Celebration of the Water Tower where it is housed. It is open on weekdays. Admission is FREE.
What’s inside the museum? The museum has three floors. You can find old photos of the city, artifacts, photos of local heroes and politicians, artworks and many more heritage and historical facts.
Works are still ongoing at the 3rd floor where engraved portraits made by artist Nicolas Aca of almost all city mayors from Justiniano Borja to Oscar Moreno are on display. Engraved portraits of other city mayors prior to 1950s are not yet installed.
You can also see some memorabilia during the signing of the cityhood.
