As per information, the cultural heritage site is recognized as the residence of former Manticao Mayor Alejandro Diabo Uy, considered the founder of the municipality of Lugait’s political autonomy through the E.O. No. 425 dated March 16, 1961. Other pioneers of Lugait were also born in the said house including Dr. Victorio Uy (the town’s first doctor of medicine), Dr. Ignacio Uy (the first dentist), and Mr. Jose Uy (the first certified public accountant), among others. Below is a photo of the ancestral house before it was destroyed by fire in 2020.

The heirs donated the house to the local government of Lugait to be converted into a memorial museum. However, the house caught fire in May of 2020, almost razing the structure to the ground. This prompted the local government to quickly repair the ancestral house.
