The Supreme Court (SC) has disbarred a prominent lawyer in Cagayan de Oro City for violation of the Lawyer’s Oath and the Canons of the Code of Professional Responsibility. Atty. Alejandro Jose C. Pallugna’s name will also be stricken from the Roll of Attorneys.
The case stemmed from a qualified trafficking case and rape case wherein the respondent who was a counsel of the accused purposedly hid a witness and victim so they cannot attend a court hearing. The decision was promulgated on November 23, 2021 and uploaded only in the SC website last May 24, 2022.
