The Barangay Council of Carmen in Cagayan de Oro City today served a Notice To Vacate/Demolish to the hundreds of illegal occupants at a private property at Zone 8 Zayas Landfill. Moreover, they are given ten (10) days to voluntarily vacate/demolish the structures illegally constructed at the said area.
A large billboard on the notice was put up at the said place.

As certified by the City Building Official, all structures erected in the said property had no building permit.
Police were on hand to provide security to barangay officials who serevd the notice.

According to City Councilor Ed Cabanlas, the illegal settlers are not the city’s priority in its housing projects.
