The man behind the famous image of the Philippine Eagle in the new 1000-peso polymer banknote is Wildlife Photographer Floyd Pison Bermejo. A pilot by profession, Bermejo took the now famous photo at the Philippine Eagle Center in Davao way back in 2017. He hopes that with the image now immortalized on the polymer banknote, it will inspire efforts for its protection from extinction.
According to Bermejo, someone from Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas contacted him last year about his photo which he posted in his Facebook. See below.
