A new major road link dubbed Muslim-Christian Unity Highway will soon connect Lanao del Norte and Bukidnon by virtue of Repubic Act No. 11602 which was signed by President Rodrigo Duterte last December 10, 2021.
Pending final detailed road layout by the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH), the new road network will start from the Lanao del Norte Circumferential Road in Tagoloan, Lanao del Norte and ends in Talakag, Bukidnon, with another road that will connect Iligan City and Marawi via Barangay Pugaan, Iligan City and Kapai, Lanao del Sur. See map below.
Initial plans were made as early as 2019.
The project will be funded through the General Appropriations Act (GAA).
