The Cagayan de Oro Higalas couldn’t sustain their 3rd quarter run and lost 62-76 to Davao Occidental Tigers in Game 2 and settled for runner-up finish of the Pearl of the Orient Cup in the inaugural season of the Pilipinas Super League at the University of Southeastern Philippines Gym in Davao City last night. Meanwhile, Higalas coach Edgardo “Boy” Dacoco was named Super Coach of the Conference.

Down 12 by halftime, the Higalas mounted a searing rally at the start of the second half with Ron Lastimosa scoring 7 straight points in an 11-2 run to grab the lead for the first time, 50-49. However, the Tigers just had enough gas in the tank and pulled away in the final period.
