The Cagayan de Oro Higalas could not hold on to their 12-point lead and allowed the rallying Lapu-Lapu Chiefs ARQ Builders to a come from behind 74-69 victory in their opening game of the inaugural season of Pilipinas Super League at the Manuel Roxas Sports Complex in Roxas, Zamboanga del Norte yesterday, March 20, 2022.
Jopher Custodio’s 3-point shot pushed the Higalas lead to 64-52 with 7:20 left in the game but were outscored the rest of the way, 5-22, by the Chiefs. Nichole Ubalde led Cagayan de Oro with 14 points while John Tayongtong added 13.
