Laguindingan Airport in Misamis Oriental was the busiest airport last year outside of Manila, Clark and Cebu in terms of passenger traffic with 611,469 based on figures released by the Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP).
Last year, the passenger movement at Laguindingan Airport was an improvement from the 581,136 passengers in 2020, the first year of the pandemic but still way below the pre-pandemic figure of 2,310,472 passengers in 2019.
Caticlan was second with 598,052 while Davao International Airport dropped to third with 573,904 followed by Tacloban with 516,110 and Iloilo International Airport with 341,950.
In 2021, aircraft movement at Laguindingan was at 7,080 up from 6,950 in 2020. With regards to cargo movement, it was 13,984,133 as compared to 16,348,443 in 2020.
