Once called ‘No Man’s Land’ due to the presence of armed groups before, Sitio Kalhaan in Barangay Minalwang, Claveria, Misamis Oriental is now a thriving agricultural community of indigenous people (IP) who have since returned to the site thru the efforts and assistance from the government.

The presence of armed groups in the area caused peace and order problems forcing the IP community to flee from their ancestral home. But due to continued government initiatives to bring peace and order in the area, the IP community is back in their land.

The government implemented several programs and projects under its anti-insurgency campaign to ensure that the community will rise and become productive.

Further, through the help of non-government organizations, the community is provided opportunities in livelihood, community entrepreneurship and skills development in agriculture to attain the objectives of the programs.
