According to a post by Alecol Datub Mahyad, the stranded fishermen survived by eating the fish they caught.

The local fishing organization offered them clothing and food while contacting municipal authorities as well as the Philippine Coast Guard. The stranded fishermen were then assisted by the Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (MDRRMO) and brought them to the Health Center for check-up.
