Two Omicron variant cases of Covid-19 have been detected on two individuals from Northern Mindanao but only one who is from Iligan City has actually arrived in the region while the other from Cagayan de Oro is still in isolation in Manila. This was disclosed by Department of Health (DOH) Regional Director Jose Llacuna during the virtual press conference today, January 7, 2022.
Stephanie Grace Zamora, Cluster Head of RESDRU gave the details of the two individuals.
OMICRON 1 is a 40-year old male, a Returning Filipino (Seaman) from Iligan City. He has been tagged as RECOVERED and is waiting for re-swabbing.
Meanwhile, OMICRON 2 is a 20-year old female student, Returning Overseas Filipino (ROF) from Brgy. 1 in Cagayan de Oro. She is currently in Manila continuing her isolation since her arrival in the country.
So far, only one Omicron variant case actually reached the region since the second case has not yet arrived. Watch the press conference below.
