Local cable and internet provider PARASAT is now involved in providing internet connectivity in areas in Caraga Region devastatated by Typhoon Odette upon the request of the Department of Information and Communications (DICT).

In his Facebook post, Parasat CEO Engr, Elpidio Paras showed two of five (5) sets iGsat VSAT terminals complete with dual band Wifi router, solar panel generator with maintenance free battery being prepared for deployment in the said typhoon-ravaged areas.

Accordingly, Parasat handled the integration and assembly while equipment and broadband connectivity were provided by GTelecoms Inc. Further, the deployment and powering is in cooperation with Philippine Cable TV Association (PCTA) member cable operator Zenergy CATV. GTelecoms is a subsidiary of GSAT, DTH Direct To Home satellite cable provider covering the whole country.
