A shooting incident at a Christmas Party in Tangub City attended by several local politicians Wednesday night, December 22, wounded former Oroquieta City Mayor and congressional aspirant Jason Paredes Almonte and Lopez Jaena Mayor and vice gubernatorial candidate Michael Gutierrez. In his Facebook post, Ozamiz City Mayor Ando Oaminal said both his father, Cong. Henry Oaminal and his brother Atty Indy as well as oher team members were okay after the incident but asked for prayers for Mayor Micheal (Gutierrez) recovery.

At about 8:45 PM December 22, 2021 at the Working Coffee building near the AIA Gas Station, Business Center, Sition Pulao, Brgy. VII, Tangub City, while Cong. Henry Oaminal 2nd District Mis.Occ. along with PDP Laban Party members and Asenso Ozamiz Local Party were celebrating Christmas Fellowship Party, a sniper fire was heard which bullet hit the frame of the glass door and the splinter hit the nape of Jason Almonte, 1st District Representative Aspirant while the slug hit the left temple and exited in the nape of Mayor Michael Gutierrez of Lopez Jaena, a Vice Governor of Mis Occ Aspirant.

They immediately rushed to Misamis University Medical Center, Ozamiz City where they were given medical attention. Mr. Almonte is in stable condition and Mayor Gutierrez was later referred and transported to MHARS Medical Center, Ozamiz City for further medical attention.

Further investigation is underway, SOCO personnel were called to gather evidence and process the crime scene. Progress report will follow.
