The City Government of Cagayan de Oro is now studying to establish a Human Milk Bank to ensure steady supply of donated human milk and help mothers struggling to breastfeed their children. It also seeks to promote the benefits of breastfeeding for the nutrition and protection of babies.

A meeting regarding the proposal was recently conducted with Dr. Stephanie Denise R. Alagadan who heads the Department of Pediatrics at JR Borja General Hospital, Dr. Shiela Taal, City Health Officer Dr Rachel Dilla together with City Nutrition Action Officer Nenita Rabe and Ms. Caroline Cabunoc, focal person for the Infant and Young Child Feeding.
