Jethro Borlongan, the pride of Iponan, Cagayan de Oro City, has made it to the Philippines’ Under-23 squad for the U23 Asian Cup Qualifiers which starts on October 25 in Singapore. The 20-year old Borlongan who is part of the Azkals Development Team plays as a midfielder.


Jethro is the younger brother of Jeremiah Borlongan, who himself was a former member of the Philippine Azkals.


Borlongan played for La Salle in Senior High School.


The Azkals face powerhouse Korea first on October 25, host Singapore on October 28 and finally, Timor Leste on October 31.
