HOLD ON JUST YET!!! Cagayan de Oro City’s Regulatory and Compliance Board (RCB) has cautioned operators and clients or customers of internet cafes, sports centers, gyms, massage parlors or spas, white water rafting and other tourism-related establishments against operating or patronizing these businesses which are directed by the National IATF Omnibus Guidelines and the DTI Advisory No. 21-19 (MC 2Q-28) to be CLOSED yet, noting that the City is still under GCQ with Heightened Restrictions.

In its Facebook page, the RCB clarified that the City Council approved Resolution No. 2021-205 was merely to earnestly REQUEST Mayor Oscar S. Moreno and the City’s Covid-19 Task Force to “CONSIDER the provisional opening of operations” of the above-listed businesses in the City. The Resolution DOES NOT authorize the reopening of operations of the said establishments contrary to the immediate reaction of some concerned individuals.

RCB made the clarification in response to reports that some of the named businesses have already set their reopening dates even as the request of the City Council still has to be discussed by the City Mayor and the Covid19-response team of the City.
