There is a significant drop in the number of Covid-19 patients admitted at the state-run Northern Mindanao Medical Center (NMMC) in Cagayan de Oro City. As stated by Dr. Gina Itchon, chairperson of the Research and Dev’t Committee of NMMC-Incident Command System, the worst could be over.
Based on data gathered, NMMC recorded its highest number of Covid patients last month (August 2021) with 914 admissions. But from September 1-15, the number of Covid went down to 278 and from September 16-22, it further dropped to 125. However, despite the decline, Dr. Itchon said the number of severe cases increased particularly those unvaccinated.
In her weekly analysis, out of 130 confirmed cases as of September 23, Dr. Itchon said 86 or 64.7 percent were severe cases, 23 or 17.3 percent were moderate cass while 15 or 11.3 percent were mild cases. Nine or 6.8 percent were critical.
Dr. Itchon is hopeful the that the downward trend at NMMC will continue.
