Pilipinas Shell Foundation Inc. (PSFI) this year launched its EcoBricks Hub in Macabalan, Cagayan de Oro City. The facility is a collaboration among PSFI, non-government organizations GreenAntz Builders and Billionbricks, the City Government of Cagayan de Oro City, Brgy LGU of Macabalan, and Macajalar Wharf Porters Association (MWPA). It produces bricks from plastics.

The facility aims to upcycle plastics to prevent them from causing floods and harming the environment further, and to provide additional income opportunities to MWPA’s porters through the production of sustainable and durable building products.
