A police officer assigned at a checkpoint along CM Recto Avenue in Cagayan de Oro City has gone viral due to his good deed. A netizen who saw this heart-warming incident posted it in her Facebook account which has drawn more than 5,000 likes and hearts and has been shared at least 3,800 times.
In her Facebook post, Ayan Danna Abarquez recounted that while she was waiting for her jeepney ride right across Gaisano Mall, she was teary-eyed when she saw the good policeman who is now identified as Pat. Rogelio Emano III, helped a pedestrian whom he had randomly checked if he had a Barangay Exit Pass but unfortunately did not have one. Instead of accosting him for the violation, he called someone who can get him an Exit Pass.
Not only that, the good policemen noticed his crumpled face shield and offered to buy him a new one which he did from one of the sidewalk vendors at the nearby waiting shed.
And finally, after giving the man a new face shield, the good policeman asked him if he had already eaten lunch to which the man said he has not eaten lunch. It was at this moment that the good policeman offered to give him money and cautioned him not to use it to buy intoxicating drinks but food instead.
The good cop even took a selfie with the man he helped.
And by the way, he treated him to lunch.
Ayan Danna Abarquez initially did not identify the cop’s name but his elder brother recognized him and tagged the good cop in his post. God bless you Pat. Rogelio Emano III.
