The Higala App’s front-end portal has been defaced. As stated in an advisory, ONLY its user interface was attacked. Accordingly, the primary website is hosted by a third-party provider while the database server is hosted by the City Government of Cagayan de Oro where the data of the Higala App is stored. Such incident would somehow warrant some cyber security upgrade.
Read the statement below.
When you try to Google “higala app”, you’ll notice the caption under the link as “Hacked: HOLIG4NIZM” and the text “100% . HOLİG4NİZM. HACKED. HOLİG4NİZM SOKAKTIR KAFANA SOKAK MI? LEGAL POLİTİK ÖRGÜTLER ESAS SUÇ ŞEBEKESİ VE KARTEL.” which translates (Google translate) into “100%. HOLIG4NISM. HACKED. HOLIG4NISM IS THE STREET TO YOUR HEAD? LEGAL POLITICAL ORGANIZATIONS MAIN CRIME NETWORK AND CARTEL.”
Ony the front-end portal was defaced and the main user interface was already retained as of this post.
But this would not eliminate doubts and worry from citizens about their personal information, QR Code, places they’ve been…among others…
