Laguindingan Airport in Misamis Oriental was the third busiest airport last year outside of Manila, Clark and Cebu in terms of passenger traffic with 581,136 based on figures by the Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP).

Last year, the passenger movement at Laguindingan Airport was a significant drop from 2,310,472 passengers in 2019. The decline started in late March after the declaration of the pandemic when travel restrictions were imposed nationwide. The numbers tend to pick up in June and steadily towards the end of the year but still way below the average number from the previous years. Davao International Airport remained the busiest outside Manila and Cebu with 989,089 followed by Iloilo International Airport with 686,578, both significantly lower from 2019.

In 2020, aircraft movement at Laguindingan was at 6,950 again down from 18,202 in 2019. With regards to cargo movement, it was 16,348,443 last year as compared to 26,767,261 in 2019.
