The Northern Mindanao Medical Center (NMMC) in Cagayan de Oro City is still on CODE RED with its ICU beds now 98.85% utilized and its Covid isolation beds now at 103.89% capacity. This was disclosed by NMMC Liaison Officer Dr. Bernardo Julius Rocha in the recent virtual press briefing.


Meanwhile, the increase in the number of children getting infected with Covid-19 has also caused alarm to City Hall with latest data gathered by City Health Office (CHO) showing an 8% increase from June to August this year as compared to the 3% in March as revealed by CHO Medical Officer Dr. Teodoro Yu Jr. With this, City Mayor Oscar Moreno together with NMMC and the CHO are asking for the public’s cooperation in complying with the minimum public health standards to address the city’s high infection rate.
