Joseph “The Scorpion” Ambo from Cagayan de Oro City, Philippines knocked down previously unbeaten Darren “DC3” Cunningham of the United States four times enroute to a unanimous decision victory and capture the vacant NABF super bantamweight crown today, August 15 (Philippine time) at the Cosmopolitan Lounge in Decatur, Georgia, USA.

Ambo, who was a former stablemate of Olympic silver medalist Carlo Paalam, knocked down Cunningham three times in the first and once in the second round and then held on to earn the nod of the judges winning in all scorecards 77-71, 75-73 and 76-72. With his win, he improves his record to 10 wins, 2 losses and a draw with 6 KOs. Cunningham lost for the first time after 13 straight wins.
