The City Government of Cagayan de Oro will hire additional medical personnel to augment the medical staff attending to Covid-19 patients at the city-owned JR Borja General Hospital. This was announced by City Mayor Oscar Moreno during yesterday’s virtual press briefing as the city tried to address the increasing number of Covid-19 cases in the city.
Mayor Moreno said the hiring of doctors and nurses takes a long process but he will find a way to speed up the process.
He likewise ordered the Human Resource Management Office and the City Budget Office to freeze the hiring of employees of other departments at city hall to prioritize the hiring of medical personnel.
In a related development, Mayor Moreno thanked the Department of Health Region 10 for sending 12 nurses to augment personnel assigned at the city isolation units (CIUs) and temporary treatment and monitoring facilities (TTMFs).
