Eight more Covid-19 Delta variant cases were detected in Cagayan de Oro City. This was confirmed by Dr. Ted Yu of the City Health Office in yesterday’s virtual press briefing, August 7. Unlike previous Delta variant cases in the city, the latest findings are spread out in several city barangays.
The eight Delta variant cases involved 2 males and 6 females and come from Barangays Kauswagan, Bulua, Carmen, Canitoan and Balulang. They are summarized as follows:
- 1 expired case (from Brgy Kauswagan)
- 1 still admitted
- 4 discharged (already extracted and now at City Isolation Unit)
- 2 still at Temporary Treatment and Monitoring Facility
Their age ranges from 6 years old to 55 years old. Second generation contact tracing is still ongoing and Dr. Yu is hoping they can present the timelines of the new cases on Monday, August 9.
With the latest findings, the cumulative number of confirmed Delta variant cases in the city is now 21.
