The special cash assistance distribution to 191,956 family beneficiaries in Cagayan de Oro City and 53,000 in Gingoog City for those affected by the Enhanced Community Quarantine (ECQ) will start this Friday, August 6, 2021 and will be done door-to-door or by barangay clustering.

Respective City Mayors Oscar Moreno and Erick G. Cañosa together with Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Usec. Felicisimo Budiongan, DSWD Regional Director Mariflor Dollaga-Libang signed the Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) for the ECQ Special Ayuda from President Rodrigo Duterte yesterday, August 3, at Camp Alagar in Lapasan, Cagayan de Oro City.

Department of the Interior and Local Government Regional Director Arnel Agabe, 4th Infantry Division of the Philippine Army Commander Major General Romeo Brawner Jr represented by Colonel Michelle B. The MOA aims to harmonize and fast-track the distribution of the relief assistance to residents of Cagayan de Oro City and Gingoog City. President Rodrigo Duterte earlier approved the release of P22.9 Billion to the ECQ areas, including the two cities in Northern Mindanao.

DSWD will transfer funds to the two cities today while the distribution of family food packs is ongoing.

Based on the Joint Memorandum Circular 2 series of 2021, the national government will give financial assistance of P1,000 per individual, with a maximum of P4,000 per family, to residents affected by the ECQ and the target beneficiaries are as follows:

  • SAP BENEFICIARIES – Kwalipikadong benepisyaryo sa mga niaging Social Amelioration Program (SAP) kon asa ang listahan anaa sa DSWD o sa nasangpit nga LGU
  • VULNERABLE SECTOR – Mga sakop sa vulnerable sector sama sa mga tawo nga nag-inusara nga nanimuyo ug kulang/mihit ang ilang kinitaan, mga persons with disabilities (PWD), mga solo parents ug uban pa. Sila dili na kwalipikado kung anaa na sila sa listahan o kung sila miyembro na sa mga benepisyaryong pamilya.
  • OTHER INDIVIDUALS AS IDENTIFIED BY LGU – Uban pang indibidwal nga labing naapektuhan sa ECQ kinsa sila gitumbok sa LGU, lakip ang mga empleyado nga na-stranded sa ilang lokalidad.

Target beneficiaries are limited to individuals or families who are staying in the city when the ECQ was established. Further, target beneficiaries are advised to stay at home.
