With many local government units (LGU) now opting for vaccination cards in lieu of RT-PCR test results as requirement prior to entry, Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) Secretary Eduardo M. Año is urging all LGUs to ensure the authenticity of vaccination cards as well as enact ordinances providing for penalties for those who tamper or forge the same.

In an advisory, Secretary Año also enjoined all LGUs to devise a tamper-proof system of authentication for all vaccination cards issued by the local government, work with the private sector to ensure that vaccination cards carried by individuals who opted to get vaccinated through their employers may also be authenticated, and conduct information, education and communication campaign regarding the same.
