The long-delayed cash assistance or “ayuda” as sought by Deputy Speaker Rufus B. Rodriguez for affected families in Cagayan de Oro City has already been processed by the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) as relayed by DSWD Regional Director Director Mari-flor A. Dollaga-Libang in her letter to DS Rodriguez.
Accordingly, DSWD Central Office has already coordinated with the Department of Budget and Management (DBM) for budget allocation for the cash aid. It was also learned that the DSWD had received a directive to propose for financial assistance to families in the city right after the IATF declaration of the city to be placed under ECQ. Augmentation family food packs for the City Government have already been prepared also. Read full text of the letter below.
DS Rodriguez meanwhile is hopeful that the family food packs will be distributed soon and the P6,000 cash assistance will be approved by the DBM. Read DS Rufus’ response to RD Libang’s letter.
DS Rufus then posted his appreciation to Pres. Duterte for the cash assistance. See below.
