Elements of the Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) team of the Cagayan de Oro City Police Office (COCPO) successfully retrieved an unknown sealed package found at Kimwa Compound in Baloy, Tablon yesterday, July 14, 2021 which reportedly produced a “bang” when it comes contact with another object. The package label indicated it contains flammable, corrosive and poisonous substance.
In a press release, Acting City Director PCol. Aaron M. Mandia reported to PNP Regional Director PBGen Rolando B Anduyan that a certain Krizza Ebdalin, manager of Cagayan de Oro Honda Distributor Company situated inside Kimwa Compound reported the said package to Police Station 10 in Cugman under the command of PMaj Leo P. Hurano. Responding policemen noticed that the package produced a bang when it made contact to another object prompting them to call the EOD of COCPO led by PMaj Alwin Baclao.
Further, the responding EOD team found that the package contained as per indication in the package label a flammable, corrosive and poisonous substance. The said package was brought to the Regional Explosive Canine Unit (RECU 10) office for analysis and extracted sample will be turned over to the PNP Crime Laboratory for examination.
