CAPT. JOHN BARRAMEDA, an alumnus of PHINMA-Cagayan de Oro College (COC) and currently the Commander of the Naval Reserve Center in Eastern Visayas has jsut been named as a finalist in this year’s Metrobank Foundation Inc. Search for Outstanding Filipinos.
Metrobank Foundation took notice of Capt. Barrameda’s “legacy of having been able to achieve the highest increase in the number of reservists in eastern and Central Visayas. As the Commanding Officer of the Naval Reserve Force Center-Eastern Visayas, he rolled out aggressive recruitment, training and engagement of the Navy reserve force.“
“His efforts to mobilize human resource was proven to be effective during the height of the pandemic in 2020. Under his leadership, a feeding program for indigent barangays in Cebu was sustained for six months. He also oversaw the deployment of 1,100 reservists who helped augment the frontlines by enforcing quarantine protocols and manning checkpoints. They also provided support during the distribution of relief goods and financial assistance under the Social Amelioration Program.“
Capt. Barrameda graduated from PHINMA-COC in 1993 with a degree in Civil Engineering. He has also won numerous awards.
