The P3.120-billion 35.89-kilometer Cagayan de Oro (CDO) – Laguindingan – Mountain Diversion Road Project is now 52.65 percent done. This was disclosed by Department of Public Works and Highway (DPWH) Secretary Mark Villar who also stated that they are aiming to finish the works by December next year.
The 4-lane road starts from Pueblo de Oro Road also known as the CDO Airport Road and towards the western side of Misamis Oriental passing several barangays of Cagayan de Oro, Opol, El Salvador City, Alubijid and finally, Laguindingan. See map below.
Here’s where it connects to CDO Airport Road (Masterson Avenue).
Accordingly, the project is envisioned to function as a new link to Laguindingan Airport, of which the present access road is experiencing traffic congestion. When completed, it will also cut travel time from CDO Airport Road to Laguindingan from the usual one (1) hour and eleven (11) minutes into just thirty (30) minutes.
