Construction of the P50 million PAGASA-DOST Planetarium in Molugan, El Salvador City in Misamis Oriental is progressing very well with the dome structure now taking shape.
The state-of-the art facility is expected to be an attraction when completed and as an ideal setting for all kinds of cosmic educational tours, whose most important task is to give the scientific concept of the Universe to the general public, and to elementary and high school students.
Shown below is the latest construction update which is now estimated to be at 60%.
The site is located right at the back of PAGASA Station along the highway and near Molugan National High School. PAGASA together with the Provincial Government of Misamis Oriental had to coordinate with the DENR for the project because it is near the mangrove area.
Completion is set sometime in August or just two months away. Keep posted.
