CocoPallet International BV, a Netherlands-based company which produces eco-friendly pallets from coconut waste is planning to put up a facility in Misamis Oriental following the recent visit of its Founder Mr. Michiel Vos and its General Manager in Asia Pacific Mr. Kiel Flores at the Misamis Oriental Provincial Agriculture Development Complex in Barangay Anei, Claveria.

Accompanying them are Provincial Agricultural Research Office (PAGRO) Jose Apollo Pacamalan and PAGRO Coconut Industry Development Officer Ms. Michelle Valmores-Lace, and PAGRO consultant Engr. Gerry Burdas.

Asia Pacific is looking for export quality coco pallet from the Philippines to the Netherlands, and Misamis Oriental is deemed to be a potential partner of the company in the production of coco pallet wherein the province will supply the raw materials. The province is among the country’s main producers of coconuts and this makes it a potential site for its coco pallet facility.

With this development, local farmers can surely benefit from the project, thus, further opening the economy of the province into the international market.
