MPBL MVP John Wilson will be leading the Ozamiz Cotta in the Mindanao leg of the 2021 Chooks-to-Go Pilipinas VisMin Super Cup starting May 30, 2021 at a still to be determined venue. Meanwhile, last-minute entries Iligan Archangels and Kapatagan Buffalo Braves will be bannered by mostly homegrown talents. On the other hand, the 9th team supposed to be Cagayan de Oro is now searching for a local government unit as their new home after they were declined by the city.

Wilson will be joined by ex-PBA players Carlo Lastimosa, Pamboy Raymondo, Marvin Hayes and Joseph Eriobu.

The Iligan Archangels will have former collegiate standouts like Edcor Marata (shown below) and local players to banner the team.

The tournament has just been given the conditional approval by the Games and Amusements Board (GAB) to proceed with its nine-team Mindanao Division. It can be recalled that the tournament was suspended after allegations of game-fixing and links to illegal gambling.

Other teams in the Mindanao Division are Jumbo Plastic Basilan Peace Riders, Roxas Vanguards, Pagadian Explorers, Zamboanga City, and Team Alza Zamboanga del Sur.
