The OCTA Research Group has flagged Cagayan de Oro as among three cities outside the National Capital Region Plus as among the “areas of concern” due to the spike in COVID-19 cases in their vicinities. According to their figures, the city posted a 75% increase in confirmed cases.
Other cities flagged by OCTA are Puerto Princesa in Palawan and Bacolod in Negros Occidental. Details in the link below.
Latest data from the Department of Health (DOH-10) revealed the city now has 5,347 cumulative cases as of May 8, 2021 or an additional 292 cases since May 3 including a high of 74 cases last May 6.
In the recent daily press briefing at City Hall, most of the new cases had travels outside of the city, attended gatherings, birthdays, and burials among others.
