Some 300 residents benefited from another community pantry which was set up today near the old city landfill site along Zayas Street in Carmen right beside the ongoing Eco Park Development Project. Unlike other pantries, on display included one Samsung Note, clothings, an aircooler and books which drew long lines from the surrounding community which are mostly families of former scavengers at the dumpsite.
It started at around 10:00am and it was over at noon until another group came bringing more goods to the pantry. Other household items at the pantry were curtains, slippers, shoes, and household items like cups, bowls, plates, mugs, toys, board games, floor mat, carpets and many more. The pantry also has the usual items like canned goods, eggs, vegetables, bread, coffee, sugar, salt, vinegar, soy sauce, milk and chocolate drinks, laundry soap, noodles and cooking oil.
