The 134.8-meter Natulongan Bridge or more locally known as Kikipot Bridge in Talahiron, Kibawe, Bukidnon was formally inaugurated and opened to traffic last month. The said bridge crosses the Pulangui River and links Barangays Talahiron and Magsaysay which was the birthplace of Filipino boxing icon and Senator Manny Pacquiao.

Gracing the turnover ceremony held last March 19, 2021 were DPWH Construction Section Chief Engr. Reynaldo S. Emeterio, Project Engineer Carlito G. Magoncia, Congressman Manuel F. Zubiri and Kibawe Municipal Officials led by Mayor Reynaldo S. Ang Rabanes.

The said project, situated at Sitio Kikipot, Talahiron, Kibawe, Bukidnon, was consructed at a total cost of Php 61 Million, funded in three (3) contract phases and implemented by DPWH Bukidnon 2nd District Engineering Office.

Prior to the implementation of the project, residents of Barangay Talahiron, Barangay Natulongan and other nearby communities needed to traverse a 4-kilometer barangay road or cross the river, which is impassable during heavy rains, using a “gaket” or wooden raft to access basic services.

With the construction and completion of Natulongan Bridge, it provides residents a comfortable, convenient, and safe access to and from the town for basic necessities. Further, it boosts economic activities and increases productivity and income growth of small-scale farmers.
