Cagayan de Oro City Mayor Oscar S. Moreno led the formal turn-over today, April 8, 2021 to officials of the Northern Mindanao Medical Center (NMMC) led by Dr. Peter Quiaoit, Chief of the Medical Professional Staff representing NMMC Chief Dr. Jose C. Chan, of the 2-storey 150-bed NMMC-CDO-Center for Emerging and Re-emerging Infectious Diseases (NMMC-CDO CEREID) facility located in Barangay San Simon which is envisioned to become the future “Research Institute for Tropical Medicine (RITM) of the South.”
Part of this morning’s activities include the signing of the Deed of Donation, unveiling of the facility marker, ribbon cutting and symbolic turn-over of key.
The milestone event was also witnessed by Department of Health Undersecretary Abdullah B. Dumama Jr., other city and barangay officials and staff.
Accordingly, the new medical complex built on a 2.5 hectare lot owned by the city government is set to start operations next month as a temporary treatment monitoring facility (TTMF) for COVID-19 patients.
