Three minors died while several others were injured following a vehicular accident involving a Isuzu pick-up and a Bajaj tricab along the National Highway in Purok 1, San Jose, Quezon, Bukidnon at around 6:30pm last night, April 3, 2021.
According to a police report, the Isuzu pick-up with Plate No. KDO 8042 driven by Fervent D. Salcedo, 37 years old, married, sales agent and a resident of Carmen, Cagayan de Oro City and a holder of Professional Driver’s License was heading west towards Kitaotao when it accidentally hit the Bajaj tricab with Plate No. KC 94854 which was going the opposite direction. The tricab’s driver identified as 22-year old John Rex Villanon, married, and a resident of Purok 9, San Jose, Quezon, Bukidnon did not have a driver’s license and was reportedly driving under the influence of liquor.
The impact resulted to injuries to the driver and 11 passengers including 7 minors of the smaller tricab who were all rushed to the nereast hospital. Unfortunately, 3 of the minors were declared dead on arrival at said hospital. Meanwhile, the pickup driver is now in police custody.
