A new Mariculture Park Office worth P1.040 million will soon rise at Barangay Waterfall, Balingasag, Misamis Oriental after the formal groundbreaking ceremony held last Friday, March 19, 2021.

Officials of the Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources (BFAR-10) led by Regional Director Teodoro A. Bacolod Jr, Provincial Fisheries Officer Venancio V. Hilomen III and Balingasag Mayor Alexis S. Quina attended the activity. The project is funded under the Bayanihan II (Stimulus Package).

Balingasag is home of the 195-hectare Mariculture Park across five coastal barangays – Waterfall, Baliwagan, Hermano, Binitinan and Brgy. 6 which has been the main source of bangus (milkfish) and livelihood of local fisher folk.
