Starting today, February 2, 2021, children who are 12 years old and below and shorter than 4’11 are now required to be properly secured in child car seats when travelling in private vehicles. This is based on Republic Act No. 11229 or the Child Safety in Motor Vehicles Act. Further, RA 11229 also states that children who are 12 years old but with a height of at least 4’11 can be secured with the regular car seatbelt.
