Cagayan de Oro City Councilor Jay Roa Pascual has cautioned tourists visiting for the first time Bolao Cold Spring and Sinulom Falls in Barangay Tignapoloan to be wary of some locals who scare motorists of the difficult access road leading to the site and pressure them into parking their vehicles for a fee and ride habal-habal instead.

In his Facebook post, Councilor Pascual stated that the road to the tourist spot may be challenging but cars and other vehicles can manage and negotiate the road. He added some locals would often scare off visitors from driving their cars towards the resort so they can park their cars for an hourly fee of P20 and then let them ride habal-habal to and from the site which he claims is a form of extortion. He added visitors should be free to choose if they will avail of the habal-habal services. It is also a public road so anyone can pass. He hopes the Barangay can act on the matter soonest.

Photo below shows the area where visitors are forced to park. Because of the scare tactics by some locals, many often park and just walk towards the resort.
