House Bill 8283 which seeks to convert the Municipality of Manolo Fortich in Bukidnon into a component city and will be known as City of Manolo Fortich has been filed by Bukidnon 1st District Rep. Maria Lourdes Acosta-Alba.
The said bill filed last December 21, 2020 was co-authored by Rep. Jonathan Kieth Flores. (2nd District, Bukidnon), Rep. Manuel Zubiri (3rd District, Bukidnon), Rep. Juliette Uy (2nd District, Misamis Oriental), Rep. Rufus Rodriguez (2nd District, Cagayan de Oro City), Rep. Xavier Jesus Romualdo (Lone District, Camiguin), Rep. Mohamad Khalid Dimaporo (1st District, Lanao del Norte), Rep. Diego Ty (1st District, Misamis Occidental) and Rep. Henry Oaminal (2nd District, Misamis Occidental).
A 1st class municipality, Manolo Fortich has a population of 100,210 people (2015 Census). It covers a total area of 413.60 sq km.
