Kagay-anon singer songwriter Ignatius Coloma has just released his debut album “SELF INDUCED TRANCE” distributed by Ivory Music and Video.
Coloma experiments with an electric ukulele and synth pedals fused in a new wave, dark wave and synth wave inspired music. His songs focus on loss, hate, denial, guilt, sadness, anger, rage and everything else in this line of thought. In his own words, Coloma said “The world is nice and all but I just want to remind you that light can never exist without darkness.“
Born in Cagayan de Oro, his major influences include artists such as U2, The Cure, Nine Inch Nails, Stabbing Westward, Joy Division, New Order, Iron Maiden, Warrant, Skid Row and some others in between.
The album contains 7 songs about different emotions and stages in life in general. All of the tracks were done using an electric ukulele, guitar pedals and virtual instruments through Garageband and Studio One. It is very evident that the music in the album leans towards dark, new wave and 80’s music.
If Ignatius Coloma is not making music, he runs his review center called EZ Review and Language Solutions, catering to those who want to prepare for taking the IELTS or OET test.
