Beatriz Homonlay, a migrant lady farmer in Sumilao and Ryan Danio, a young Talaandig farmer were named as the “Cabbage Queen” and “Carrot King,” respectively, in the just concluded first IMTASULA Vegetable Derby held in Miarayon, Talakag, Bukidnon.

Mindanao Development Authority (MinDA) Chair Manny Pinol stated in his Facebook page that Homonlay is actually from the Cordilleras but settled in the highlands of Bukidnon to engagein vegetable farming. Meanwhile, Dadio is a graduate of Agronomy and was after harvesting 22.4-metric tons of quality carrots per hectare posting an estimated income of P1.1-million in less than four months. Both received trophies, certificates and 15 cu.ft. home refrigerator donated by Sanden Cold Chain Systems Phils.
