What’s the biggest cabbage you’ve seen in your life? In the ongoing 3-day 1st IMTASULA VEGETABLE DERBY AND FESTIVAL in Barangay Miarayon, Talakag, Bukidnon, you can discover cabbage big enough to fit one basket.
Vegetable farmers from Bukidnon and neabry areas brought their best products to the first ever Vegetable Derby and Festival set December 10-12 which is the culmination of a season-long program which seeks to introduce to vegetable farmers in the Bukidnon towns of Impasugong, Talakag, Sumilao and Lantapan (IMSATULA), the seeds most suited to their areas and the best farming practices to improve the quality and quantity of their production.
The first-ever derby focused on three major vegetable varieties – Carrots, Chinese Cabbage and Cabbage – and the winning farmers will be “enthroned” as “Kings” in their categories who will be challenged in next year’s derby.
